Open Enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace (“Marketplace”) will begin November 1, 2015 for 2016. The Marketplace is an online tool, established under the Affordable Care Act (“ACA”), where consumers can apply for and enroll in private health insurance plans. While consumers can still purchase insurance plans outside of The Marketplace, The Marketplace is the only program where consumers can see if they qualify for tax credits (to help pay monthly premiums) or cost-sharing reductions (to lower out-of-pocket costs, such as co-pays and deductibles).
Eau Claire Cooperative Health Centers, Inc. has been designated as a Certified Application Counselor organization, which means we can help you understand the ACA and how it affects you and your family. We can also provide face to face assistance for individuals and families applying for plans through The Marketplace. Consumers may enroll in health insurance through the Marketplace outside of open enrollment, only if they qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
